India is one of the largest spices producing country. It grows over 50 different varieties of spices. In recent years, organic agriculture has been gaining considerable importance. Many farmers show interest in organic cultivation as a means to produce safe food stuffs and preserve the environment. Thus, the concept of “Organic Spices” came into being. Organic spices are spices, that are produced using methods of organic farming that do not involve modern synthetic inputs, such as chemical fertilizers  and synthetic pesticides.

This means that the organic spices contain fewer or none pesticides, insecticides & fungicides. These chemicals are widely used in conventional agriculture. Hence, organic spices are more nutritious than non-organic spices. Organic spices do not contain artificial colorings or sweeteners. Hence, these spices are more natural. Due to this, its chemical contain is very less than that of non-organic spices, therefore it is much healthier and soothing for body.

Spices like turmeric which are also used for beautification, using organic turmeric in place of non-organic turmeric will be more beneficial for skin. Other than that, there are various other organic spices like cinnamon, cloves et al, which are proved to be of greater medicinal value than those of artificially grown spices.

Hence, organic spices, packed with numerous nutrients is preferable than the conventional spices. It is not just what organic spices do contain; it is also what it does not, makes a difference.
